Storage on a small boat is always a challenge. On my Potter 15, I needed to store an anchor and rode, horn, and miscellaneous items. And I needed a place to stow the propane bottles that I use for my camp stove.
For proper trim, a Potter 15 wants weight up forward. Sitting back at the transom is the worst spot, and filling that space with a storage lazarette is a good reminder for me, and it keeps any on-board guests sitting further forward.
I have good experiences with using PVC trim board for various projects. And this one continued. There is a narrow gap between the floor and the transom so that any water will drain out and won't collect in the storage compartment. The center compartment is dedicated to stowing the full and empty propane bottles.
There are two threaded fasteners that secure the lazarette to the top of the seats. On the port side, the a stainless steel eye provides a stout connection for the bitter end of the anchor line. And I added bungie cords to keep the lids shut.
